Representatives of OGK-2 PJSC visited ROTEC's Center for Forecasting and Remote Monitoring of Power Generating Equipment. Deputy General Director of Production and Chief Engineer Alexander Faustov, his deputy Oleg Ivanov as well as Head of STU and GTU Maintenance Department Igor Trofimov checked out the capabilities of the PRANA Forecasting System, which is able to detect the development of defects in connected equipment two-three months before their manifestation, i.e., to prevent emergency breakdowns.
Based on adaptive mathematical models, the PRANA System determines benchmark operational values for each specific device (gas or steam turbine, booster compressor, pump) and generates trends in changes in the technical condition of equipment. This enables quick localizing of defects at the earliest stages of their development, two-three months before they manifest themselves, i.e., before they lead to an emergency breakdown. Implementation of the PRANA System at power generation facilities ensures increased equipment reliability, reduced unplanned downtime, and, what is most important, avoids emergency breakdowns.
