ROTEC performed anticorrosive protection of heat exchangers and tanks at the plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC and the absorber AM-76 at the ammonia plant of Apatit JSC

ROTEC specialists have completed the works to apply protective anticorrosive coating on the pipe grids of three heat exchangers at Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC's plant for production of styrene and polyester resins. In the course of the work a composite coating was used, which included layers of nickel-aluminum intermetallic, corrosion-resistant steel and fluoro-epoxide composition. The coating provides guaranteed protection of the installations from the destructive effects of aggressive media, and high pressures and temperatures. ROTEC specialists also applied protective coatings to the internal surfaces of acid mixers, where the corrosion rate of metal and welds reaches 1 mm per year. This solution will increase the maintenance-free operation of the units by more than 5 years. The works were carried out during the period of a shutdown capital repair within 7 working days.

Earlier, ROTEC carried out work to restore the carbon dioxide absorber AM-76 item 301 at Apatit's ammonia plant during the shutdown period. Company specialists placed metal cladding in areas of ulcerative corrosion (depth of corrosion reached 30 mm) and have put a protective covering on more than 270 m2 of the internal surface of the column unit. To protect the metal structures of the absorber, a composite coating based on nickel-aluminum and copper-nickel alloys Alunik and Monel was used. The work performed will protect the absorber from chemical corrosion for the next 10 years.
