The specialists of the Ural Turbine Works have completed the acceptance of the gantry-type machining centre manufactured at Czech plant Tos Kurim. It is designed for machining of large box-type workpieces of steam turbines.
The commissioning of this equipment is one of the most important items of the investment budget of CJSC UTW in 2013-2014. The contract for supply of the machine was signed at the end of 2012.
The new machine complies with high technical specifications. It features a user-friendly interface. The installed CCTV cameras enable monitoring of a workpiece machining.
Tos Kurim company is well-reputed in Russia. The equipment of this supplier is installed at many machine-building plants in the Russian Federation, such as OJSC RDC Uralvagonzavod and OJSC M. I. Kalinin Machine-Building Plant .
The machining centre commissioning is scheduled for April, 2014. The machine foundation installation is being completed now. The supplier’s representatives will visit CJSC UTW at the end of December to check the foundation quality.
