11 December 2013 year The UTW increased the power of Kazakhstan’s electric power system

Turbine Т-50/60–8,8 manufactured by CJSC UTW was commissioned at Petropavlovsk HPP_2 (JSC Sevkazenergo). The new turbine will replace outdated installation Р-33-90/1,3 manufactured by Czech company Skoda.

Installation of this turbine is a part of the investment programme scheduled for 2010-2015. According to this programme, the power plant capacity will grow up to 435 MW.

In addition to this turbine, two more turbine units manufactured by the UTW will be installed at Petropavlovsk HPP-2: steam turbine К-63-90 is being shipped now, and more powerful turbine plant Т-95/105-8,8 is being manufactured. Its shipment is scheduled in 2014.

It should be remembered that the supply of turbine Т-95 is performed within the framework of the first memorandum of cooperation between JSC The Central Asian Electric Power Corporation and CJSC UTW. The UTW and CAEPC signed the 2nd memorandum of cooperation at the Xth Russia-Kazakhstan Forum in November, 2013. It provides for the supply of the equipment for Kazakhstan’s HPPs for the total amount of 120 mln. USD.
