25 April 2013 year Ural Turbine Works continues equipment retrofitting

Upon completion of the full-scale modernization, Ural Turbine Works commissioned a 1580L vertical boring machine within the framework of a technical upgrading investment program.

The company uses this machine equipped with a 7m face table for the main production cycle of the company. It will be used for finishing of heavy body parts with weight up to 125t. It will considerably relieve the operation of the existing equipment and, consequently, will shorten the production cycle.

The machine has been modernized at the Kolomna Machine Tool Building Plant. Under an agreement with the manufacturing plant, the equipment underwent major repairs, which involved replacement of the face tables, hydraulic stations, supports, crossbar, as well as all the electrical and electronic components.

Retrofitting of the 1580L vertical boring machine is one of the main objectives of the 3-year investment program implemented by UTW ZAO for equipment technical upgrading. The amount of the program will exceed 800 mln RUR. As of today, the program has been almost completed.
