Ural Turbine Works has completed a major project for retrofitting of a Hoesch finishing lathe machine under an investment program for technical upgrading for 2011-2013.
Ural Turbine Works has been operating the machine since 1981 at the main shop used for turbine assembling. The machine is used for final machining of steam turbine rotors.
Retrofitting of the machine included installation of a modern control system manufactured by Siemens, which was performed by the German company Retrofit-Europa.
In the past, Ural Turbine Works completed such large-scale projects as retrofitting of a Skoda horizontal boring mill and major upgrade of a vertical turning machine. Altogether, in 2011-2013 the amount of investment under the program of technical upgrading of the production facilities will exceed 800 mln RUR.
