Ural Turbine works has proved conformance of its Quality Management System to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. This new version of the international standard ISO 9001 came in force in September 2015. In this regard UTW became the first Russian plant which was successfully audited according to the new version of the standard. The audit was carried out by the international certification authority — British Standards Institution — (BSI).
According to the audit results, it was mentioned that plant's Quality Management System is stable and effective which implies continuous improvement. The achievements and improvements of Quality Management System were also emphasized.
The new version of the standard suggests risk-oriented attitude to decision making at every stage from technical and commercial proposal to warranty and service maintenance.
"Introduction of the new standard allows for systematic risk management within UTW's activities, which, no doubt, will provide competitive advantages under present market conditions," — commented Nikolay Sbitnev, Director for Quality of UTW.
Ural Turbine works is being certified according to international standards ISO 9000 since 2004. This confirms the plant's capability to demonstrate stable results and from year to year follow the path of continuous improvement of its business.Scope of UTW's Quality Management system certification includes: design engineering and development of co-generation and condensing turbines, gas turbine units and spare parts; manufacturing of co-generation and condensing turbines, gas turbine units and spare parts; supply, installation, service maintenance and modernization of turbine equipment; management of construction, design engineering, reconstruction and overhauling activities at capital construction sites.
